The Ideal candidate should have below skills & experience

• Should have in-depth knowledge and should be able to perform secondary research in pharma, healthcare, agrochemicals, biotech and life sciences domain. Should be familiar with pharma & lifesciences industry trends, industry, & its various layer etc.
• Should have collected and analyzed primary research data from surveys and primary sources to include industry focused reports
• Should have worked thoroughly on Indian & Global micro markets with in-depth market understanding of entire industry at various levels including drug inventors, Patentors, Drug synthesis, Basic Raw Material, RAW material suppliers, Intervals, APIs & excipients, Drug formulators, Drug marketers and traders etc.
• Should have worked on all/any aspect of research: research planning, quantitative, qualitative research using public as well as paid sources, telephone / web surveys, questionnaires, face-to-face in-depth interviews, quantitative (statistical tools / statistical excel formulae / forecasting), and Monitor and forecast sales trend.
• Analyzing data to derive an understanding of the disease or therapy based on client requirements
• Deep understanding of ROS (Route of Synthesis), drugs & variants, manufacturing process of FDFs (Formulations), APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), excipients, delivery systems, drug coatings, drug mechanism of action (MoA) and chemical structure.
• Monitoring and creating drug and disease forecast models on various therapeutic areas based on the bottom to top approaches.
• Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data, thus conducting comparative analyses
• Data mining, business intelligence, and valuation in for reaching conclusive analysis for various therapeutic areas
• Effective Understanding of Disease and Drug models along with in-depth understanding of diseases and treatment landscape
• Ability to devise methodology to gather data about consumers, competitors and market conditions. Conduct in-depth interviews with industry experts, member customers, competitors, competitor customers, or anyone relevant to our research
• Ability to convert complex data and findings into understandable & presentable reports charts, tables, graphs and written reports and present result to clients and management.
• Should be able to use paid database Beckers data, Row2, ChemXpert, IQVIA, Bloomberg, EXIM databases, Factiva etc., and keyword-based search for unpaid resources.
• Desirable to have patent analytics understanding.

Roles & Responsibilities

• A patent analyst must conduct daily patent searches using a range of methods, databases, and technology review.
• You will be assigned to patent-related ventures that will require you to research and understand new technologies, as well as perform different forms of patent searches based on your findings. Using technical background and experiences to understand invention or patent disclosures, and to draft the key features of the subject invention/patent.
• Candidate needs to be expert in patent analytics (for both patent and non-patent literature) mainly Landscapes, Patentability, Invalidations, Novelty, FTOs, Market Research and Infringement.
• Able to analyze patent claims and description for claims mapping, portfolio analysis, patent categorization, etc.
• Able to analyze patent claims and patent file histories.  Thorough assessment of project processes and identifying and notifying the steps that may be automated for making the entire project process efficient and less time intensive.
• Can write both Provisional and Non-provisional patents as per PTO guidelines (such as of Australia, Canadian, European, Indian, Japan, US, etc.)
• Candidates shall be responsible for interacting with inventors and to draft patent specification of the inventions based on the invention disclosure provided by the inventor/technologist.
• Candidate should have a detailed knowledge of Asian, European and US Patent Law.
• We required a candidate who has a strong technical knowledge with an analytical mind, to extract the essential features of the invention.
• Conduct secondary research in the markets
• Build in-depth understanding of the companies in the assigned sectors like Business Model, Technologies used, Product offerings etc. and summarize the learnings
• The role may also involve doing Custom Research based on client queries
• Actively seek feedback on the research done in daily feedback meetings with Manager
• Present the findings to clients in the form of a detailed report; therefore, candidate needs to have good oral and written communication skills.
• Candidate need to have a marketing and commercial knowledge.
• Candidate needs to be dynamic so that he/she can quickly follow the current market trends

Skills

• Experience in using various patent and non-patent literature research tools (Patbase, Orbit intelligence, Thomson Innovation, STN or any other open-source tools); and also able to extract data in the absence of any tool.
• Extensive experience in creating claim charts on technology products.
• Should be expert in the IP field, along with some prior knowledge on marketing and business.
• Preference to candidates who have worked in similar positions.
